The impact is as follows:
Unsettled funds from stock sales are not added to your CFD free margin. You can’t use them to open or increase CFD positions, and you can’t withdraw them until the stock transaction has settled.
However, you can use unsettled funds to buy other stocks in the same currency immediately. No FX conversion fee applies when buying stocks in the same currency.
- Limit buy orders reserve cash, reducing free margin until the order fills, expires, or is cancelled – at which point the reserved cash is released immediately.
